About Worth a Week
Updated 15 September 2026
Worth a Week is a small review site for free browser games, run from the UK by three people with far too many tabs open. It exists because "top 50 browser games" lists are written in an afternoon and answer nothing. We wanted a site that answers one question properly: is this game worth a week of your evenings?
Why a week
A week is the unit that matters. A game that is fun for an hour is a demo. A game that is still interesting after a week of evenings has shown you its mid-game, its shop and its community, and that is where free-to-play design shows its real intentions. We play for at least three weeks so we can answer for one.
What we cover
- Games that run in a normal browser with nothing to install.
- Games that are free to register and to play properly. A shop is fine; a paywall on the core loop is not.
- No real-money gambling of any kind. We do not review casinos, slots or betting products and never will.
- Games that have been live at least a year with an active English-speaking community.
How we are paid
The "Play" buttons are affiliate links. Sign up through one and the publisher may pay us a small commission, which covers hosting. Publishers cannot buy a place on the list, do not see reviews in advance and have never been offered a better score for anything. When a game stops meeting our rules it comes off, whatever the link earns.
Seasons
We publish five games a season, four seasons a year. Games can carry over if they still deserve to. Games that dropped below 7 on re-test are removed rather than kept with a warning, because a stale review is worse than none.
Corrections, suggestions and complaints go to hello@worthaweek.co.uk. A person reads them.
